NCBC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization bringing together health care providers, agencies, organizations, individuals, families and other breastfeeding advocates to support, protect and promote breastfeeding in the state of North Carolina. Founded in 2005, we provide a framework for the development and execution of programs to advance breastfeeding support throughout NC. In addition we are a forum for creation and exchange of resources for breastfeeding professionals and families.
Mission and Vision
Our Mission: The mission of the North Carolina Breastfeeding Coalition is to promote, protect and support breastfeeding through a cooperative network of individuals, coalitions, agencies and organizations.
Our Vision: Ensure that early, exclusive and continued breastfeeding will be the norm in North Carolina.
NCBC’s Strategic Goals
Goal A: Build the capacity of the North Carolina Breastfeeding Coalition
Goal B: Reduce health system distribution of infant formula marketing materials in North Carolina
Goal C: Increase workplace support for women in North Carolina
Goal D: Increase access to International Board Certified Lactation Consultants and other breastfeeding support in North Carolina.
Goal E: Increase support for breastfeeding families in North Carolina health facilities and communities.
