This booklet is designed to be used prenatally to give mothers-to-be an idea of what to expect and to encourage them to choose to breastfeed their babies. It would be ideal for a hospital registration information packet or in new mothers’ packets at clinics, WIC Programs or private physicians’ practices. It could be used at childbirth and/or breastfeeding classes. With the exception of the resources portion, it is at a sixth-grade reading level.

The booklets are in English and Spanish, in color or in black and white with Triangle area resources in jpeg files or in WORD with a blank textboxes so local resources and phone numbers can be added before printing. The format is two 8 1/2” x 11” sheets of paper folded in half so the booklet contains 8 panels of information. There are great multi-cultural photos and bright colors.

The topics covered are:

How Do I Get Ready?

How Do I Get Started?

What Should I Expect?

How Can I Be Sure My Newborn Is Getting Enough?

How Do I Keep Breastfeeding?

How Can I Balance Work/School and Breastfeeding?

Why Is Breastfeeding Important?

Where Can I Get Help?

Below is a lovely 25 page breastfeeding guide titled " The NYC Mother's Guide to Breastfeeding" and covers nearly every topic. Very nice to download if you're looking for an all-in-one booklet:
